Mino Ware - Kuro Neko Black Cat Soup Cup

Japanese cat soup cup for slow mornings A Mino ware soup cup from the Kuro Neko series, painted with black cats around the body. At 310ml and 10.5cm across it's built for soup, chawanmushi, porridge or an oversized latte, wider and deeper than a standard mug, with a handle for the heat. Microwave and dishwasher safe, so it handles everyday use in a way hand-painted pieces can't. Not suitable for oven use. Mino ware has been made in Gifu prefecture for over 400 years and accounts for more than half of all Japanese tableware. Because each piece is fired individually, slight variation in shade and pattern placement is normal.
