Natural Raw Selenite Plate- 4.0 inches wide Dimensions: 10.1 x 8.1 x 1.2 cm A beautiful natural Selenite crystal plate composed of broad, translucent to nearly transparent gypsum crystals grown together in a layered formation. Large bladed and tabular crystal faces overlap across the specimen, creating striking geometric patterns and a glassy to pearly appearance. Unlike the fibrous gypsum commonly sold as “selenite” but more accurately known as satin spar, this specimen displays the true selenite crystal habit of gypsum. Its exceptional cleavage produces the prominent flat surfaces, layered edges, and internal geometric features visible throughout the piece. Selenite is naturally very soft and has perfect cleavage, so small chips, flakes, surface marks, cleavage lines, and irregular edges are normal characteristics of natural specimens.
