What the heck is Sashiko? - Thursday, October 22; 5:30 - 7:30pm
Sashiko (pronounced sah-shee-koh) is the traditional Japanese stitching technique. Translated, sashiko means "little stabs." In the modern era, it has gained popularity through visible mending. In this class, we will take a printed sampler to learn the basics of sashiko. Included in your materials fee is the sampler, thread, needles, and a sashiko thimble. We will talk through ways to incorporate sashiko into your wardrobe and home decor, what projects to tackle next, and how to create your own designs!
