Zinnia ‘Cut and Come Again’
Botanical Name: Zinnia elegans Lifecycle: Annual Heritage: pre 1900's ‘Cut and Come Again’ is an old fashioned Zinnia perfect for those who love vibrant fresh cut flowers again and again. This gorgeous variety blooms abundantly in a rainbow of colours including red, orange, yellow, pink, salmon and white. The stunning double or semi-double flowers last a long time on the plant, and in the vase before fading. They are heat-loving plants that will supply endless color for your flowerbeds, containers, and borders from summer until autumn. Excellent for pollinator plantings. Zinnia seeds are easy to direct sow into the garden but they can also be tray sown and transplanted easily. SOWING: Spring - Early Summer Direct, or Transplant Zinnia seeds are best sown in spring to early autumn. Seeds can be sown in trays for transplanting, or directly in place approx. 30 cm apart when soil temperatures are between 18°c – 25°c. 18°c - 25°c 7 - 14 days Transplant seedlings, or thin directly sown seeds to a final spacing of approx. 30cm apart once plants have some true leaves. 30cm 70 - 90 days Tender TIPS: Don’t allow tray grown plants to become root bound and avoid disturbing roots. Properly spacing zinnias is essential whether sowing direct or transplanting, as overcrowding increases the chance of disease significantly. Plant in fertile, organically rich, well-drained soil with lots of sun (ideally 6 hours or more each day). APPROX SEEDS PER PACKET: HOME GARDEN 150 seeds
