Intermediate Rigid Heddle Weaving

This is an Intermediate class- You know how to knit/crochet/weave and have taken the required classes before this one, so you can add on to your technique and knowledge Log Cabin Weave This intermediate level weaving class is designed to add a couple of concepts to your weaving repertoire. Students will be introduced to weaving with a non-stretch yarn (cotton), threading colors in a particular order to create a color-in-weave effect, and managing 2 shuttles while weaving. Students will choose two colors of contrasting cotton yarn. Finished Project: Log Cabin Weave dish towel Skills Needed: Students must have taken Intro to Rigid Heddle Weaving or be able to measure their warp indirectly and dress their loom Skills you will gain: Project Planning using a worksheet Warping with 2 yarns at the same time Managing multiple wefts while weaving Supplies: A Rigid Heddle Loom wide enough for 10" dishcloths or 20" Kitchen Towels, 2 stick shuttles, a reed hook, warping board (some will be available for purchase in class), and a warp separator Participants will need to purchase 2 skeins of fingering weight cotton yarn Fox River Fibers.
