FA Pant - Olive Cotton Brushed Herringbone

The Engineered Garments FA Pant, introduced in the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, draws inspiration from mid-20th-century French military attire, specifically the TAP Modèle Extrême-Orient trousers worn by French airborne troops during the Indochina campaign. Designed with functionality in mind, the original military trousers featured multiple specialized pockets and reinforced areas to meet the demands of combat. Designer Daiki Suzuki reinterpreted these utilitarian details to create the FA Pant, balancing practical function with a contemporary aesthetic. The “FA” stands for “French Army,” reflecting the pant’s military heritage. The FA Pant is distinguished by its abundance of pockets: two standard seam pockets, two inverted-pleat bellows cargo pockets at the sides, and three button-flap 3D pockets on the front, including a smaller pocket on the left leg. Together, these details provide ample storage while giving the pant its distinctive, utilitarian character.
