Import the SVG, configure the material sheets and confirm how every vector color should be processed before nesting. 1 Import and configure the project Import a clean SVG file containing the vector parts you want to arrange. Choose the nesting mode and material sheet size. Set the width and height of one or more sheets, then adjust Part Spacing and Sheet Margin. Review the operation assigned to every imported color. Confirm the correct Cut, Score or Engrave mode so the software can identify and organize the vector geometry correctly. Optional: add an outer frame and/or restricted areas that the nesting result must avoid. Review the separated cutting operations, make any optional manual adjustments and download the finished SVG sheets. 2 Review, edit and export the nesting result Repeat the displayed color order and assign the matching Cut, Score and Engrave modes in your laser software. Vector Painter Nest automatically separates internal and outer cutting contours. To combine two source colors into one exported color group, assign the same output color to both. Optional: move parts with the mouse and rotate them with the mouse wheel. Collision protection prevents the parts from intersecting one another. Optional: add holding tabs. These small uncut bridges keep the parts attached to the material sheet during cutting and handling, so they can be pressed out by hand afterward. Complex geometry Parts can be placed inside suitable openings When the geometry and spacing allow it, smaller parts can be nested inside real openings in larger parts to make better use of otherwise empty material. SVG effects are not supported. Before uploading, convert text, live shapes, brushes and other effects to regular vector paths, and remove raster images, clipping effects and unnecessary hidden objects. Add holding tabs The orange circles show where holding tabs will be created. At these positions, small gaps of the selected size are added to the cutting contours. The resulting uncut bridges keep parts securely inside the sheet during cutting and handling, while allowing them to be pressed out easily afterward.
