Elephant Ear pods are the curved dried seed capsules of the Isoberlinia angolensis tree found across tropical Asia. These seed pods are woody and durable. An eye-catching addition to natural bioactive enclosures and botanical method aquariums. Shrimp, snails, isopods, springtails, and other invertebrates enjoy these pods. Some of our dart frogs will lay eggs on the smooth surface. Preparation for Aquarium/Paludarium Use: Boil: Boil the pods for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins. Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer if needed, changing the water daily, until they are fully waterlogged and the desired amount of tannin has been leached. Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, they are ready to be added to your setup.
