Cantine Pellegrino Diantha Grillo Malvasia 2025
Cantine Pellegrino is a historic family winery founded in Marsala in 1880 and now in its seventh generation. Dianthà comes from vineyards around Petrosino and Mazara del Vallo in western Sicily, close to sea level, where the hot, dry Mediterranean climate is tempered by coastal breezes. Clay and calcareous-sandy soils help retain freshness while bringing aromatic expression to the grapes. Pellegrino has a long-standing focus on responsible vineyard management and environmental care. Dianthà 2025 is a blend of Grillo and Malvasia, combining the freshness of Sicily’s Grillo with the floral, aromatic character of Malvasia. The grapes are harvested in the cool early morning in the first weeks of August, gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is matured in tank before spending around two months in bottle. Light and fragrant, it shows pear, orange blossom and jasmine, with citrus and a fresh, crisp finish. Dry and refreshing, it is ideal with seafood, prawns, octopus, light pasta dishes, salads, fresh cheeses and vegetable fritters.
