"Eden" carries a baggy, break-beat swing straight out of the late 80s and early 90s, while "How Dare This Beer" is a witty nod to the Magnetic Fields. Bass was a stated priority throughout, and it shows.The lyrics come from Emerson's own life, more direct than before: the move from Berlin to Los Angeles, a marriage, and the hard business of loving people you cannot change.
