PAS Stain Kit

The Periodic Acid–Schiff (PAS) Stain Kit is designed for the demonstration of polysaccharides, mucosubstances, glycogen, basement membranes, and fungal cell walls in tissue sections. This classic histological method is widely used in clinical and research laboratories for evaluating carbohydrate-rich structures and diagnosing various pathological conditions. The kit includes a 0.5% w/v Periodic Acid solution in water, which oxidizes vicinal diols to aldehydes. These aldehydes then react with Schiff’s reagent to produce a characteristic magenta coloration, highlighting target substances with excellent contrast.
