Bardi
This original vintage Italian advertising poster for Bardi was created by Gino Boccasile in 1950. The poster promotes Bardi's Elixir di China and Medicinale products under the slogan “In Bardi è la salute” (“In Bardi there is health”). It was printed in Italy by Raffaelli of Livorno.Boccasile depicts a glamorous woman in a green dress enthusiastically presenting two bottles of Bardi. The strong colors, exaggerated pose and direct presentation of the products are characteristic of Boccasile's highly recognizable approach to commercial advertising. The large-format lithographic poster was designed to attract immediate attention while associating Bardi's products with health, vitality and glamour.Gino Boccasile (1901–1952) was one of the most important Italian commercial illustrators and poster designers of the twentieth century. Born in Bari, he established his reputation in Milan during the 1930s and became particularly well known for his illustrations of fashionable, glamorous women. His distinctive style was widely used to advertise food, beverages, cosmetics and other consumer products. After World War II, Boccasile returned to commercial advertising and produced some of his most colorful and collectible poster designs during the final years of his career.An original example of this poster is held in the collection of the Museo Nazionale Collezione Salce in Treviso, Italy, one of the country's most important collections of historic advertising posters.This is an Original Vintage Poster, it is not a reproduction.
