Alnwick, , c.1816. the tenth from a series of forty two satires produced by William Davison (1781-1858), noted as a pioneering apothecary as well as a printer and publisher of Bondgate Street in Alnwick. It depicts a mirthless curate, with nose and chin as sharp as the brim of his hat, in a hunched posture on the back of his weary horse as they plod slowly past an inn where three grinning drinkers look on.. 170 by 235mm (6¾ by 9¼ inches).
