Liquid Sunset
Tasting notes Honey, Blackberry, Grape Farmers Marlene Tamayo & Segundo Merino Municipaltiy Chinchipe Country Ecuador Variety Typica Process Washed Altitude 1,200 - 1650 masl In one of the southernmost provinces of Ecuador and bordering Peru is the Chinchipe area with the town of Zumba lying at its heart. This area is rich in biodiversity and vibrant communities with a very strong agricultural sector, with coffee at its forefront. Third and fourth generation coffee farmers here mainly grow the Typica varietal that thrives in these conditions. They prioritise great agroforestry practises and ensure good shade coverage of the coffee trees. This coffee is deliciously sweet with a honey note at the fore. A caramel like sweetness lingers long after the first sip, all with a delightful, juicy, blackberry note and hints of grape supporting it all. Art by Miriam S Aspden
