3M Gamgee is a classic, highly absorbent cotton padding used as the primary padding layer in veterinary bandages. It cushions vulnerable tissue, absorbs wound exudate, and conforms to limbs and joints without bunching or shifting under the outer bandage. Never apply so tightly that it constricts circulation - you should be able to slip two fingers under the finished bandage. Check the toes below the bandage regularly; if they're swollen or cold, remove it and consult your vet. Use the narrower 12 in width for cats and small dogs.
