The Correct Connect Velcro Foot System is a supportive training aid designed for riders who struggle with maintaining consistent, safe foot placement in the stirrup. Whether due to disability, disease, neuropathy, balance challenges, or in the learning process of correct foot and leg position, this system gives riders the confidence and stability they need to focus on their leg position and overall alignment. Safe by Design — Release Under Pressure Safety is the foundation of this system. The Velcro connection is intentionally engineered to release under pressure. If a rider loses balance, catches a toe, or begins to fall, the boot detaches from the stirrup. There is no risk of being caught in the stirrups It provides security when you want it and freedom when you need it. Customizable support uses small Velcro squares that increases or decreases the amount of “stick”. Who This Helps The Velcro Foot System is especially beneficial for riders who experience: Neuropathy (diabetic, chemotherapy‑related, or nerve‑damage related) Multiple sclerosis (MS) Parkinson’s disease Muscular dystrophy Cerebral palsy Stroke recovery or hemiparesis Balance disorders or vestibular issues Joint instability or hypermobility (EDS, etc.) Age‑related weakness or proprioception loss Learning differences that make body awareness harder Riders struggling with correct foot placement, especially in new riders or riders returning after injury It supports para‑equestrians and riders with temporary injuries who need a safe, confidence‑building way to maintain correct foot alignment while they rebuild strength and coordination. A Training Aid — Not a Crutch This system is not meant to hold a rider in place or compensate for poor position. Instead, it provides guided stability so riders can: Feel what correct foot placement should feel like Build muscle memory through repetition Experiment with leg position without fear of losing the stirrup Focus on balance, alignment, and body awareness Develop independence and confidence over time The goal is always progress, not dependence. As riders improve, the Velcro connection becomes a subtle reminder rather than a support — and eventually, they won’t need it at all. How It Works The system uses a neoprene overshoe (similar to those used by cyclists) with an elastic strap around the back of the boot. A second elastic band wraps around the footbed of the stirrup, creating a soft, flexible connection between the rider’s boot and the stirrup. It’s secure enough to guide the foot, yet gentle enough to release instantly when needed. Instructions for Use STEP 1 Use under the supervision of a trainer or ground person with a horse that is familiar and comfortable with the sound of hook-and-loop fasteners. STEP 2 Wrap the hook-and-loop stirrup wrap firmly around the stirrup. Ensure the hook side faces outward and sits on the stirrup tread. STEP 3 Mount horse. STEP 4 With the aid of a trainer or groundperson, slide your toe firmly into the sleeve. STEP 5 Have your trainer or ground person position your foot correctly in the stirrup. The ball of the foot should rest on the widest part of the stirrup tread, about one-third of the way back from the toes. This “balance point” allows the ankle to act as a natural hinge and shock absorber. STEP 6 Ride as normal and use the added security of LegAlign to explore balance, stability, and leg position without worrying about losing your stirrups. STEP 7 Before dismounting, release the heel straps and slide the foot out of the toe sleeve. Request assistance if needed.
