2015 Gibson L-4 CES Vintage Sunburst (Pre-owned) The Gibson L-4 CES is one of Gibson’s most distinctive hollowbody jazz guitars, combining the comfortable dimensions of the ES-175 with a considerably more sophisticated carved-top construction. This 2015 example was built by the Gibson Custom Shop and features a solid carved spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck. The 16" Florentine-cutaway body makes for a very comfortable playing experience, while the 24 3/4" scale length and rounded neck profile give the guitar an easy, relaxed feel. Tonally, the carved spruce top and mahogany body produce a warm, open and naturally resonant acoustic voice, with plenty of clarity and definition when amplified. Electronics are provided by a pair of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers, delivering the smooth, articulate response that makes the L-4 CES particularly well suited to jazz, chord melody and clean playing. It has an Indian rosewood fingerboard with pearl split-parallelogram inlays, gold hardware, an ABR-1 bridge mounted on an ebony base and the distinctive L-4 trapeze-style tailpiece. In excellent condition, showing only very light signs of use and is supplied with its original Gibson Custom Shop case and COA.
