Where Wildflowers Grow
Everyone in Crow’s Fork knows to stay away from Virgil Mayher. The scarred drifter has spent his life running from his past and living up to the reputation the town assigned him. He expects folks to fear him wherever he goes—and he usually gives them good reason. Mim has a reputation of her own, though she couldn’t care less what the town believes. Sharp-tongued, stubborn, and happiest alone with her wildflowers, she’s long accepted the whispers that follow her. The last thing she needs is the local crazy showing up on her porch with a dead bobcat. She certainly never expected him to stay. What begins as irritation slowly blossoms into friendship as Virgil mends fences, clears gardens, and drinks far too much of Mim’s coffee. Before either of them realizes it, the lonely little cabin begins to feel like home. But old habits creep back like stubborn vines, and when Virgil’s violent past threatens the quiet life they’ve built together, Mim must decide whether the man everyone fears is worth fighting for. Sometimes the wildest hearts simply need a safe place to bloom.
