Ouzo Plomari

Ouzo Plomari, officially known as Ouzo Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis, is a highly respected Greek anise-flavored aperitif distilled on the island of Lesvos. It is renowned for its smooth, distinct character, which stems from the use of local ingredients, including soft water from the Sedountas river, sea salt from the wetlands of Kalloni, and a secret blend of herbs and seeds. The spirit is double-distilled in traditional, handmade copper stills, resulting in exceptional purity and aromatic complexity. Expect rich notes of anise, fennel, and subtle spice. When mixed with water or ice, it louches, turning a milky white, a sign of its high concentration of essential oils. Ouzo Plomari is traditionally served chilled alongside Greek mezze.
