Secale cereale Sweet, heirloom variety suitable for milling or for cooking whole. Plants grow over 6 ft tall and make excellent straw. Makes an excellent cover crop. Certified Organic Growing instructions For fall rye, direct sow outdoors 6-8 weeks before the first frost, seeds will germinate as late as early November. A spring crop can be planted March through April. Sow seeds 2-4cm deep in full sun to partial shade.
