One of the oldest watchmaking companies, Vacheron was founded in 1755 in Geneva, Switzerland. As part of the "Holy Trinity," along with Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, VC is known for their high-quality and unique design language. Even today, however, the brand remains relatively under-appreciated considering their significant contribution to horology. This particular 1st series piece on offer is the larger 37mm version with desirable automatic VC caliber. The standout feature is the unique character of its sigma dial which has taken a stunning and heavy "tropical" patina that resembles a lunar eclipse. The dial was originally blue from factory but now contains tones of blue, purple, copper and gold that make for an almost endlessly engaging user experience. The case retains good proportions and the bracelet shows light stretch, fitting an approximate 7 inch wrist. is For the collector looking for an off the beaten path sport watch that's truly one of a kind, this piece offers all the character one could hope for. An archive extract is on order and will be provided to the new owner.
