Product Description: Domaine Didier Dagueneau Vin de France Buisson Renard 2023 is a highly sought-after Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc from one of the most revered estates in Pouilly-Fumé. Produced by Domaine Didier Dagueneau in Saint-Andelain, this wine reflects the domaine’s reputation for singular, age-worthy Sauvignon Blancs of exceptional precision and mineral force. The 2023 Buisson Renard is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and is classified as Vin de France. It is produced from organically worked vineyards and comes from a biodynamic producer, aligning with the estate’s meticulous approach to farming and site expression. Buisson Renard is recognised as one of Dagueneau’s distinctive single-site expressions, known for its depth, smoky tension and layered texture. The wine is fully oaked in demi-muid vessels, with no new oak used, allowing texture and complexity to develop without masking the clarity of the fruit. Dagueneau’s cellar work is famously precise, with the wines raised in oak vessels before further settling and integration prior to bottling. The domaine is now led by Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau, who continues the uncompromising vineyard and cellar standards established by his father, Didier. The 2023 Buisson Renard shows a vivid Sauvignon Blanc profile shaped by citrus, orchard fruit, herbs and mineral intensity. Aromatically, it leans toward lime zest, white peach, green apple, crushed stone, smoke and fresh herbs. The palate is concentrated yet finely controlled, combining ripe fruit weight with bright acidity and a chalky, saline structure. Its smoky, flinty edge gives it classic Dagueneau character, while the long finish suggests both precision and ageing potential. This wine is beautifully suited to oysters, shellfish, goat’s cheese, spring vegetable dishes, citrus-led Asian cuisine and refined seafood preparations.
