During this special event, we'll join one of the Museum's regularly scheduled cruises and explore Merrymeeting Bay—one of the largest freshwater tidal estuaries in the United States—where six rivers meet in a remarkable ecosystem. Known for its rich wildlife, beautiful marshlands, and fascinating natural and cultural history, this special place offers a memorable backdrop for an afternoon of knitting and discovery. Your registration includes both the knitting experience and the cruise experience. The Knitting Experience Sometimes the best knitting happens when there's nowhere to be except on the water. Settle in aboard the Merrymeeting for a relaxing afternoon of knitting, camaraderie, and exploration. Whether you're casting on something new, making progress on a longtime project, or simply enjoying uninterrupted knitting time, this cruise is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Take in the beautiful scenery, listen to the captain's fascinating narration, move about the boat to enjoy the ever-changing views, visit with fellow knitters, or simply relax and enjoy the ride. Merrymeeting’s professionally trained crew provides fascinating narration and a safe, comfortable cruise. * Boarding begins 15 minutes prior to departure. Please plan to arrive at the Maritime Museum lobby by 2:50 PM to check in, then join us at the boarding area by 3:00 PM. We’ll gather there to meet fellow knitters, pick up your Halcyon Yarn project bag, and enjoy a little time together before boarding. Boarding begins at 3:15 PM, and the boat departs promptly at 3:30 PM. The boat will not wait for latecomers.
