NextSand media provides high-performance filtration down to approximately 3–5 microns while maintaining excellent flow rates. The media bed captures suspended particles throughout the depth of the tank, and the system automatically backwashes to flush the accumulated sediment down the drain. Unlike traditional cartridge sediment filters, there is no disposable filter cartridge to regularly remove and replace. When the system enters its scheduled backwash cycle, the flow is reversed and the trapped sediment is flushed out through the drain. The EIQ timer automatically controls the backwash cycle, so the system can operate with minimal maintenance. What Does NextSand Remove? NextSand is designed primarily for reducing: Sediment Silt Turbidity Suspended particles Fine particulate matter Oxidized/particulate iron NextSand is not designed to remove dissolved contaminants. For dissolved iron, manganese, sulfur, or other water-quality concerns, a different treatment media may be required. Why Choose a Self-Backwashing Filter?
