“Le Bastidon” refers to the small stone houses scattered across the vineyards, quiet witnesses to a white of depth and character from the Rhône. Producer: Cave de Gigondas, Gigondas, France The Cave de Gigondas brings together growers working across some of the most distinctive terroirs of the southern Rhône. This cuvée comes from vineyards around Saint-Maurice, perched at around 300 metres altitude on clay limestone soils, where cooler nights help preserve freshness while allowing the wine to develop structure and complexity. What we say: "A beautifully composed Rhône white with both precision and generosity. The blend of Grenache Blanc and Viognier brings freshness alongside a gentle richness. On the nose, notes of pear, apple and a touch of mandarin. The palate is round and textured, with a layered feel, yet lifted by a clean mineral edge.
