Sunflower Craft Notebook - Applique

Printed in soft, imperfect layers through Riso, this little diary is part of our studio series of small books built around the crafts we work with, love, and want to share. The cover is Riso-printed with a design inspired by appliqué, a technique as old as resourcefulness itself. It is the simple, radical act of stitching patches of fabric onto another, layering scraps into something entirely new. Born from necessity, appliqué has flourished across continents: in the patchwork quilts of Kutch, the textiles of Karnataka, the intricate work of Kashmir, and in traditions around the world. What unites them is this: nothing is wasted. The illustration on this cover is one of our own studio designs. Flip the diary over and you'll find a little note on the craft itself.
