Her eyes will meet your heart Poppy was found as a stray alongside a male dog believed to be the father of her puppies. When she arrived at county shelter care, staff noted she was heavily pregnant and due at any moment. On 4/2/26, Poppy welcomed seven beautiful puppies into the world. Based on dad’s appearance, the pups appear to have a bit of scruffy charm in their family tree. Poppy has been an exceptional mama—loving, attentive, and wonderfully easy to have around. She settled into home life quickly, was potty trained right away, and has a calm, gentle nature that makes her a joy to foster. At just 12 pounds, she is the perfect little lap companion and would make an excellent travel buddy. Poppy has done beautifully with the other dogs at the rescue, and we believe she would likely do well in a home with cats, too. Now that her puppies are growing up, Poppy is in the process of drying up her milk and will be spayed as soon as that is complete.
