Biography Odake Chikuha (1878-1936) Japanese painter. Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1878. Brother of Japanese painter Etsudo Odake and older brother of Kokkan Odake. His name was Somekichi. Studied under Kobori Tomoto and Kawabata Gyokusho. He especially excelled in historical painting. He died in 1936 at the age of 59.
