On a kids gi that load matters more, because it sits on a smaller frame.The trousers are the same 10 oz ripstop the adult line uses: the difference between kids and adult is the pattern and the sizing, not the fabric.It doesn't shrinkThe pearl weave cotton is heat pre-shrunk before stitching. That stabilises the fabric and stops the gi coming up short after the first few washes. On a kids gi this decides how many seasons it lasts: your child outgrows it, the fabric doesn't shrink out from under them.SizingFive sizes, M00 to M3. If you are between two, size up.
