1914W Amami Mud-Dyed 17oz Sashiko Jeans Regular Straight - Brown
Cut from a heavyweight 17oz Bushu sashiko cloth, woven on old shuttle looms and historically used for Japanese martial arts uniforms. Off the looms, this fabric is cut and sewn into jeans in its natural ecru state, then dyed on Amami Ōshima using dorozome, a traditional mud-dye process that combines vegetable tannin from sharinbai wood chips with iron-rich local mud. The result is an earthy brown with variation unique to each garment, meaning every pair is unique. The sashiko weave gives the fabric a structured hand that will soften and patina with wear. Cut in Studio D'Artisan's Regular Straight fit: medium rise, roomy top block, full through the leg. 17oz Bushu sashiko fabric Amami Ōshima dorozome mud-dye Corozo nut button fly Copper rivets Chain-stitched hem Studio D'Artisan branded leather patch One wash version 100% Cotton Made in Japan All measurements are in inches.
