Revolte und andere Pflanzen, Michael Schäfer

The starting point for Michael Schäfer’s artistic work consists of fragments of information from the Internet. In his latest pieces, he captures screenshots from news videos and combines them with his own nature photographs to create three-dimensional, intertwined wall objects. He views images perceived through media as part of our environment and the realm of our experience-just like everyday objects or the landscapes we inhabit. Against this backdrop, Schäfer explores a relationship with the world in which the balance between nature, the living individual, and technology has shifted.
