Riders on the Storm

I photographed this scene in the wetlands of Addington Marsh in Maple Ridge, where a commanding mountain rises beneath a sky thick with gathering storm cloud. As I watched, the light began to dim, shadows lengthened, and the air turned electric, as if the landscape itself were holding its breath. In that suspended moment before the rain broke, I created “Riders on the Storm” to capture the quiet intensity of West Coast weather—the meeting point of stillness and motion, solidity and change. Through this image, I invite you into that threshold space, where the enduring strength of the land meets the restless, ever‑shifting sky, offering a sense of awe, humility, and calm in the face of nature’s power.
