Four wide balloon-style wheels, a lightweight folding frame and a comfortable supportive seat make it purpose-built to travel across soft sandy surfaces where standard wheelchairs can struggle. Designed for Soft Sand Traditional wheelchair wheels are narrow and can quickly dig into loose sand. SandMate™ uses four oversized balloon wheels — 9-inch at the front and 12-inch at the rear — with a low-pressure design that spreads the load across a greater surface area rather than concentrating it onto a narrow tyre. This is what gives the chair its ability to travel over beach terrain.
