Pair of French Ivory-Painted Chevet Nightstands, Mid-Century - 28"

A petite pair of French chevets, likely mid 20th century, interpreted in the Louis XV style. Each is crafted in hardwood and finished in a later off white patina, gently rubbed along the edges for a subtle aged finish. The tops present a softly undulating gallery above a shallow drawer with a small wooden knob and an open niche below. Tall, slender cabriole legs and a serpentine apron give the profile a graceful lift. Condition is very good with intentionnally timeworn paint at contact points, drawers that run smoothly, and lightweight yet sturdy frames. Retaining the graceful curves and light proportions that have made the chevet an enduring classic, these bedside tables bring understated elegance and versatility to a contemporary interior.
