Château Labegorce Margaux Cru Bourgeois 2018

Labegorce is, like many chateaus in the Bordeaux, named after one of the first owners. This concerns the Gorce family who already showed their interest in the piece of land in the 14th century. Until the French Revolution it was one of the largest domains until they were forced to divide it. This led to a split into three parts: including Chateau Labegorce (which became Labegorce Zede). Chateau Labegorce had many owners, until Hubert Perrodo bought it in 1989. His interest came from his visit to the polo games that were held at Château Giscours, also located in Margaux. Perrodo aimed at reintroducing the three original parts into one domain. Unfortunately, Hubert Perrodo died in a ski accident, just after he had bought Labegorce Zede. The soil on which the grapes grow are sloping and grainy. Fine soil, coarse and large pebbles mixed with sand, sometimes calcareous and occasionally clay. Margaux wines are distinguished by their curiosity and elegance. This wine consists of different grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet-Franc and Petit Verdot. Tasting notes Peony red with a black shade. Delicious bouquet with fine, tender tones of wood and chocolate with black, ripe fruits. Heavy, delicious fruit-smooth with a velvet texture. A full-bodied wine. The harmony is perfect thanks to the mature, crispy freshness. Polite, tasteful tannin. Food pairing This wine is delicious with red meat, beef, lamb or game dishes.
