FINE LARGE VIKING HEART PENDANT NECKLACE, 9TH-10TH CENTURY AD
Gilt bronze. Just under 1 ¼” (1.19”) in height. Low rounded section with broad border evolving into a central elongate teat form. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, and integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
