(PN ORJB02) This blue flute player comes from The Last Judgment, the famous triptych by Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450 to 1516). On the left side of the central panel, the cheerful creature accompanies a gruesome spectacle with his music, forming a striking contrast with the horrors surrounding him. In The Last Judgment, Bosch warns of the consequences of a sinful life. Following the fall of the rebellious angels, the central panel shows humanity confronted with its sins and punishments, while only a small number of the chosen reach heaven.
