Ellipse Jig #ELPSJ - Woodpeckers Woodpecker NEW Ellipse Jig guides your router along a perfect elliptical path to cut bowls, trays, picture frames, plaques and any other elliptical design you can imagine. Unlike competitive jigs made from plastic, Woodpeckers Ellipse Jig is laser-cut from steel then zinc plated to prevent corrosion. Mounting holes for most popular mid-size and larger plunge routers have been milled into the jig arm with CNC accuracy (see the full list in the photo carousel). Just mount the sliding track base to the center of your material, Place the jig arm on the base, lock it up and your router is ready to track a perfect ellipse. An ellipse has two determining dimensions…the major axis and the minor axis. The difference between the two axes determines how "fat" or "skinny" your ellipse comes out. The Ellipse Jig works with differentials of 2" to 4" and major axes from 9" to 19" (smallest = 9" x 7" and largest = 19" x 17"). Most ellipse projects involve 2 parallel cuts, for instance, bowls, platters and picture frames. Setting up for the second cut can be challenging with most ellipse jigs, but notice the Woodpeckers jig arm is cut with overlapping axis holes rather than a continuous slot. This lets you move the arm in precise 1/4" increments for perfectly parallel cuts. Works with: Festool 1400 Festool 2200 Craftsman 3 trous et 4 trous Makita RP2301FC - RP1800 - GPR01Z Hitachi MV8 - TR2 Dewalt 625 As a bonus, we've included an axis pin. If you need a true circle, rather than an ellipse, just use the axis pin instead of the sliding track base and cut perfect circles with your router…no need for a separate trammel attachment
