2019 Reserve Blanc de Blancs
2019 was a cooler vintage and perhaps disregarded initially by wine writers and media. However, because of a higher acidity and more elegant structure, wines from this vintage have aged incredibly well with great intensity, elegance and finesse. Another lesson that these cooler years can be fantastic for our cool climate winemaking, especially when it comes to sparkling! Chardonnay from the Queenston Road Vineyard was handpicked on September 19th and whole bunch pressed. This was fermented and aged in older French oak barrels (with malolactic fermentation) for about 10 months before tirage (the first time we have done this). Aged for over 66 months on the lees before disgorging.
