The Scott Cao STA 950 Viola is handcrafted through a collaborative process between Scott Cao’s workshops in Guangzhou, China, and Campbell, California. Each instrument is expertly built in the Guangzhou workshop before being shipped to Campbell, where it receives its hand-applied varnish, final setup, and meticulous finishing. The 950 Series is crafted from 15-year naturally aged, highly flamed Bosnian maple paired with premium aged Italian spruce, carefully selected for their exceptional tonal and visual qualities. Distinguished by its refined craftsmanship, beautiful antiqued varnish, and outstanding tonal performance, the STA 950 represents one of Scott Cao’s finest workshop instruments.
