This cast bronze finger ring features a rounded shank that broadens gradually at the shoulders to support a wide, oval bezel. At the center, a recessed circular field is engraved with the profile of an unidentified head facing right. The portrait is framed by a narrow band of gold inlay, creating a striking contrast between the gold and the darker bronze. The figure has a prominent nose, defined chin, and stylized headdress arranged close to the head, although the identity of the sitter cannot be determined. The classical treatment of the profile reflects the Hellenistic and Roman artistic influences that circulated throughout the Nabataean world during this period. The bronze has developed a deep green patina with lighter areas of mineral accretion. Intact and wearable, this is an uncommon example of ancient Nabataean personal adornment combining bronze and precious-metal inlay. Medium: Bronze, gold Dimensions: US ring size 4 (UK=H 1/2, DE=15, CH=7, FR=46.5, EU=46.5, JP=7) Condition: Intact and in very good condition overall. A rare and lovely example. Provenance: Private NYC. collection, acquired prior to early 2000s.
