Understanding and Approaching Therapeutic Impasses
Tue Jul 14, 7–8:30 PM Leader: Daphne Chang, MA, LPC, NCPsyA Level: Introductory to Intermediate Fee: $50 Virtual via ZOOM Continuing Education: 1.5 credits for NJ social workers and NBCC clock hours for licensed professional counselors. This workshop will introduce pluralistic approaches in understanding therapeutic impasses and character defenses. Learning Objectives: To examine character resistances from classical as well contemporary perspectives. To identify the clinical appearance of resistance. To recognize analytic approaches and interventions in working with clinical impasses. Workshop Leader: Daphne Lin Chang is a licensed professional counselor and certified psychoanalyst. She is a faculty member at NJI and the Institute of Counseling and Psychoanalytic Studies.
