Understanding and Approaching Therapeutic Impasses

This workshop will introduce pluralistic approaches in understanding therapeutic impasses and character defenses. Learning Objectives: To examine character resistances from classical as well contemporary perspectives. To identify the clinical appearance of resistance. To recognize analytic approaches and interventions in working with clinical impasses. Workshop Leader: Daphne Lin Chang is a licensed professional counselor and certified psychoanalyst. She is a faculty member at NJI and the Institute of Counseling and Psychoanalytic Studies.
