Zinnia Hybridizing Intensive: THURSDAY 9AM

Thursday, September 3rd 9:00am-12:00pm Tiffany Jones @blommaflowerfarm Location: The Dahlia House Flower Field | 20555 Dry Slough Rd, Mt. Vernon Join us for a deep dive into zinnias! This workshop will focus on the practical application of breeding techniques, where you’ll learn zinnia anatomy and apply that knowledge to identifying mature seed, immature seed, and viable green seed. You’ll also experience the fine art of pollination and how to take cuttings. Tiffany will also discuss practical strategies for choosing the most beneficial parent plants to meet your breeding needs, including how to approach breeding for color. You will have access to blooms pollinated from both Dawn Creek and Blomma Flower Farm for this workshop. Attendees will also receive seeds collected from crossings of the zinnia breeding patch at the end of the growing season. Workshop limited to 20 guests.
