The Antoni de Montpalau Textile Collection (MdP) was founded in 2004 with the aim of collecting, preserving, studying and promoting textile heritage and fashion. A few years later, in 2011, the Foundation was created to strengthen and support this work. A significant part of the collection consists of women’s and men’s hats, along with graphic documentation of their design and production. The Foundation’s director, Josep Casamartina i Parassols, will give a visual presentation exploring the origins of the hat collection, its latest acquisitions, and the decision that led him to curate, together with Ismael Núñez Muñoz, the exhibition “Chapeau. From Casas and Picasso to Balenciaga and Pertegaz.” The exhibition also resulted in a book of the same title, which, due to its particular interest, will be available for purchase at the Hat Days Market.
