Urnes Wyrm Candlestick Pair

Two birchwood candlesticks, turned and burned by hand, made to hold the light. Each one carries an Urnes wyrm on its body... my own design, in the old style... lithe creatures that have coiled through Norse art for a thousand years and show no sign of tiring. The dotted bands at base and neck are an old language too, marking the boundaries the way the old ones always did. The scorched finish is dark and smoky, the way birchwood goes when fire has had its say. Brass inserts hold your taper candles fast, and silicone rings are included to ensure a firm fit. Light them and set them where the shadows can do their work. These are not decorations. They are an invitation. 9.5" x 2.25"
