Worthing Pier
Designed by Sir Robert Rawlinson, Worthing Pier was opened to the public on 12th April 1862. Described as an “elegant pier of iron, 960 feet long, for promenaders only”, it was originally constructed of wooden decking laid onto the iron framework and was about five metres wide with seating down both sides.
