Matcha Bowl - Matchawan Josei With Spout
Matchawan Josei with a spout is hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel from gray clay with a subtle addition of chamotte and a glaze prepared in accordance with centuries-old Japanese tradition. It was created as a limited KOOE for MOYA series by the Kraków ceramic studio KOOE, whose pieces are known not only for their beautiful forms but also for exceptional durability thanks to high-temperature firing. The spout helps you pour matcha into a glass without spills. Each bowl in this series is a unique handmade piece, so its appearance and size may vary slightly from the one shown. A matchawan is a traditional bowl used in the Japanese tea ceremony. It’s also the most comfortable vessel for drinking matcha, which is best whisked with a bamboo whisk (the chasen). The bowl’s vertical walls and wide base make it easy to whisk the matcha in water and quickly create a fine layer of foam on the surface. Remember: the water temperature for preparing matcha should not exceed 80°C.
