Produced entirely on Islay using 100% Scottish barley, the whisky has been conceived, distilled, matured and bottled at Bruichladdich Distillery. A complex maturation profile involving bourbon, sherry, virgin oak and wine casks brings remarkable depth and elegance to the spirit, while extended ageing softens and integrates Port Charlotte’s signature peat smoke. Rich fruit, warming spice and maritime influence combine to create a whisky that balances power with exceptional maturity. ⸻ Nose: “Tropical fruits are immediate on the nose, followed by gentle waves of wood smoke and warming spices which intertwine with honeycomb and soft apricot. With a little time to open, fragrant honeysuckle, fresh linen, and walnut marry with the oak and enhance the delicate, floral character of the spirit.” Palate: “Incredibly smooth and rounded, aromatic wood spice, bonfire smoke, and caramelised brown sugar coat the palate. An undercurrent of rich cinder toffee sweetness, layered with a medley of tropical fruits, gives way to earthy hints of supple aged leather, charred oak, and roasted almond, unveiling Port Charlotte’s signature peat smoke.” Finish: “A hint of sweet citrus and vanilla custard settle on the finish, before Port Charlotte’s unmistakable smouldering peat smoke and a drift of sea breeze linger.”
