2024 Wine Advocate 93-95: From 65-year-old vines, Pillot’s 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets unfolds aromatically with notes of orange oil, peach and freshly baked bread. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and concentrated, built around an incisive spine of acidity and concluding in a long, saline finish. Tasted alongside the crystalline La Grande Montagne, this wine illuminates its slightly more demonstrative personality. It comes heartedly recommended. Vinous 94-96: The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has a detailed nose, beautifully defined, very mineral driven with hints of Crustacea and petrichor, quite Puligny-like. The palate is supremely well balanced with wonderful concentration, countervailing acidity keeping this Chassagne very focused and delineated. There is a reassuringly long tail on the finish: a Chassagne at the top of its game.
