Saturday 12th September 2026 10am - 3pm Join our resident tutors Ruth Matthews and Rachael Sterrett as they help you master cabling; knitting the beautiful Clougha Pike cowl, designed by Ruth. Cable stitches, used predominantly in Aran-style knitting, form the basis of this workshop. The Clougha Pike Cowl pattern is the perfect introduction to cable techniques, abbreviations and stitches creating a textured fabric that gives extra warmth to the cowl. A modified size will ensure you achieve an understanding of the techniques and plenty of time to feel confident in your knitting. Classes are kept small to ensure everyone gets plenty of support. You will learn: * simple pattern adaptations * to read cable chart and / or written instructions. * use a cable needle * to feel confident with Aran knitting. Experience of knitting in the round is helpful. You will need: 2 x 50gms/ 100gms of DK such as Mamo, Colour Lab, Croft or Big Bio balance 4mm and 4.5mm x 40cm circular needles 4mm / medium cable needle stitch markers Class attendees can enjoy 10% off materials for this workshop! Please note: *We will only be able to issue a refund if we can fill your space (which we'll do our best to do) *There is one step into the shop and one flight of stairs to the class - please let us know if this will be a problem.
